Yeah, breeches! Walter White's Breaking Bad costumes up for auction
This article is more than 8 years oldAlways wanted to look just like your Breaking Bad heroes? Now you can, thanks to the sale of 70-odd costume items from the cult TV show
We’ve had Walt and Jesse dolls, bespoke Blu-ray covers by Ralph Steadman and a Lego-style Superlab Playset. So what’s left for the Breaking Bad superfan? How about trying on the normcore stylings of Walter White or his baggy hoodie-wearing partner in meth-lab crimes, Jesse Pinkman?
US auction site Propstore has got 70-odd “original wardrobe item[s] used in the production” on sale until 23 July. There are notable items, such as Lot 77: Walter White’s green flannel button-up shirt and khaki pants from Ozymandias (“Walt wears a green flannel button-up and khakis in a flashback to his first cook as well as in episode 101 “Pilot” in which said native cook was originally depicted”). Or how about Lot 67 – Jesse Pinkman’s woodland camo hoodie from Blood Money (“Jesse wears a woodland camo hoodie throughout the episode, most notably when getting high with Badger and Skinny Pete”).
At the time of writing, Lot 40 has hit the highest bids ($210) – the Superlab Chemical Suit. “Superlab chemical suits were worn by numerous characters on the show … The suit is composed of a pair of Helly Hansen FR series Fluor-orange bib-overalls (size Large) and Helly Hansen FR series Fluor-orange jacket with hood (size Large). The costume has been distressed for use in the production with stains primarily on the back of the jacket. This item remains in excellent, production-used condition.”
Sadly, there’s no sign in the auction of Walter White’s most iconic outfit, the Y-fronts and Wallabees desert combo.
